GABORONE, BOTSWANA — Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino has launched a new menu at the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, Mahogany’s. The launch of the menu also marks a collaboration with Motswana artist, Kagiso Maphorisa who will showcase his contemporary abstract paintings at the restaurant.
The new menu is locally sourced and inspired by regional flavors and served by knowledgeable staff, while the collaboration with Maphorisa is aimed at supporting local artists and creating awareness around Botswana’s rich and diverse arts and culture.
Maphorisa art will be on display in the restaurant with pieces ranging between P3 000 and P12 000 and guests will have the opportunity to buy artwork on display with all proceeds going to the artist.
Speaking at the launch, Avani Gaborone Resort General Manager, Allan Clingham said, “We are excited not only to launch the new Mahogany’s menu, but to also introduce an exciting collaboration between Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino and of Botswana’s young creative talents. As Avani, we are committed to uplifting and shining a spotlight on Botswana’s growing creative industry. Collaborating with Kagiso was an easy decision for us, as not only is he talented but he is passionate about his craft, and we recognize that.”
“We are also excited to announce that guests who dine at Mahogany’s from 16 August until 30 November will stand a chance to win a diamond valued over P85 000, and the winner will be announced on 1 December 2019,” says Allan Clingham, General Manager at Avani Gaborone Hotel & Casino.
Mahogany’s restaurant sets itself apart as the ideal location to experience amazing food, in an intimate and sophisticated setting. The menu includes 100% locally sourced beef which is grass-fed and organically reared,
