Morocco’s main telecommunication Maroc Telecom announced, Thursday, that it has signed an agreement with international telecommunications and media company Millicom to acquire its subsidiary Tigo Chad, a leading mobile operator in Chad.

Morocco’s main telecommunication Maroc Telecom announced, Thursday, that it has signed an agreement with international telecommunications and media company Millicom to acquire its subsidiary Tigo Chad, a leading mobile operator in Chad.

In a communiqué sent on the same day to Yabiladi, Maroc Telecom said that the acquisition is «part of its development strategy that aims to broaden the presence of the Maroc Telecom Group in the region».

According to the same source, the agreement shall come into force, once approved by the Chadian authorities.
